Judge Albert H. Heimbach has fixed Friday, January 11, at 10 a.m., as time for hearing on a petition calling for Nesquehoning, New Columbus, and Hauto to become the borough of Nesquehoning. A petition calling for the same was filed this afternoon in the office of Carbon County Clerk of Quarter Sessions Frank E. Wehr by Robert Lazorchick Esq., representing majority of the freeholders of Mauch Chunk Township, who are seeking the change in governmental status from a township to a borough.
