On Saturday, Dec. 8, the 4th annual tree lighting ceremony will be held at Sam Miller field, located on North Avenue in the Heights section of Jim Thorpe. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m.

Children will also get the chance to meet Santa Claus and pick out a free present, while they last.There will also be free hot chocolate and cookies.Everyone from the community is welcome to attend.The ceremony is hosted by the Jim Thorpe Community Athletic Association. The association maintains Sam Miller Field."The tree lighting is a way of giving back to the community for all their support," stated Kyle Sheckler, member of the JT Community Athletic Association.Rain date is Sunday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.
