SR309 was closed around 10 p.m. Monday as police and firefighters responded to a two vehicle accident that occurred near Turkey Hill in Hometown. Responding in addition to Rush Township police were firefighters from Tamaqua, Hometown, Quakake, and others. Also responding were Tamaqua Rescue and ambulance and Lehighton ambulance. Sgt. Duane Frederick is the investigating officer. No more information was available as of presstime. Hometown Fire Police closed the road between the Hometown Five Points and Lincoln Drive intersections.
