The Heritage Center in Summit Hill has announced that the handicapped access ramp is complete and ready for use.

Debra Ranck, president, said "This makes the Center truly accessible to all. Thanks to the generosity of the Board of Directors and Megan Kennedy of the 1st Federal Charitable Foundation our ramp is a reality."She said the Heritage Center appreciates those that provided help, letters of support and/or additional funds for this endeavor, Bobby O'Gurek's Web Design, Summit Hill Recreation Commission, Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization, Lansford Summit Hill Community Partnership and the NEPA-Alliance."Thank you to our contractor Josh Steigerwalt whose talent, patience and generosity fulfilled this dream of access to the Center for all patrons. Josh not only built this wonderful structure but also donated the cost of the structural blue prints," she said.Announcement will be made of the "Celebration Shindig" when the Center will "officially" open the ramp to the public.Ranck said, "No longer will our patrons who need assistance with entry via the steps need to struggle to come to the Center. Instead they will enjoy ease of access to all our events, meetings, as well as to the Church on the Rock Sunday evening services."The Heritage Center is located at the corner of Hazard and Chestnut Streets in Summit Hill.
