This marks the 20th anniversary of the country band Lonestar, a quartet that has had enormous success.

On Friday night, Lonestar makes a visit to Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe with a concert starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $45 and $40.Lonestar is best known for the love ballad, "Amazed," a song played at many weddings, which hit number one on the Billboard 100 chart, and which has received many awards.Other hits by Lonestar include the whimsical "Mr. Mom," "I'm Already There," and "My Front Porch Looking In."Back with the band is lead vocalist Richie McDonald, an original member who left in November 2007 for a solo career but returned last year.Lonestar first charted in late 1995. Nine of the band's singles have reached number 1 on this chart.The group has also recorded nine albums, with three of them being certified gold and three more have been certified platinum or higher.For all their record and ticket sales, the biggest accomplishment of the band's storied career has been witnessing the impact of Lonestar songs in the lives of others."Music is a very powerful tool and can help people going through both good and bad times," observes McDonald.Nowhere has this been more evident than in the group's performances for U.S. armed forces stationed overseas in Iraq and Kuwait, where classics like "I'm Already There" have elicited powerful emotional displays from men and women who've put their lives on the line defending America.Also coming up this weekend is Get the Led Out, a Led Zepellin tribute band, who is performing on Saturday at 8 p.m.Get The Led Out is a group of professional musicians who are passionate about their love of the music of Led Zeppelin.It's been their mission to bring the studio recordings of "the mighty Zep" to life on the big concert stage.
