Seven area residents among 31 to enter guilty pleas

Seven area residents were among 31 defendants who entered guilty pleas in Schuylkill County court recently and were sentenced by Judge John E. Domalakes as follows:

Mark B. Goff, 37, of 112 School St., Jim Thorpe, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, fined $1,000, pay $300 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to MCARE fund, attend alcohol highway safety school, perform 10 hours of community service, and drivers license suspended 12 months.Goff was cited by Coaldale Patrolman Charles Blesse. Goff was previously admitted in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program but was revoked for failure to complete all conditions.Joseph Edward Kulha, 20, of 22 Village Crossing Road, Tamaqua R.D., on two charges of being involved in an accident in Port Carbon with a vehicle in which there were two minor children. was sentenced to serve one to 12 months in the county prison, and pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund. On a charge of failing to give immediate notice of an accident was fined $50 plus $50 costs. He was cited by Port Carbon Patrolman Jon J. Bowman.On a charge of theft of a water heating commercial ice machine was sentenced to serve one to 23 months in the county prison but it runs concurrent to the accident sentence, pay $50 CJEA fund and make restitution of $1,617 to Lori Miller, New Ringgold, the victim. Lorah.On a charge of theft of scrap metal from a property at 109 Lafayette Street, Tamaqua, was sentenced to serve additional 12 months on probation and pay $50 to CJEA fund.Kenneth Jay Mellor, 50, of 27 Center St., Tamaqua, DUI, serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison beginning Friday, Oct. 26, at 9 a. m., fined $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $180 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend safety school, receive outpatient treatment, perform 10 hours of community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months. Osenbach.Michael Frank Merenda, 58, of 50-52 Bruno Avenue, McAdoo, manufacturing 361 grams of a controlled substance and possession drug paraphernalia, sentenced to serve one to two years in a state correctional facility beginning Tuesday, Nov. 13, fined $500, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Kevin Ruby.Susan Marion Rochford, 29, of 125 Coal St., Cumbola, Blythe Township, possession of a controlled substance (CS), placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, and $50 to CJEA fund. On a charge of retail theft from Walmart Store, Saint Clair, fined $25 and make restitution of $15.51. Rochford was cited by Patrolman Martin H. Sterner.Shaun Andrew Trudeau, 22, of 303 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, on charges of theft, loitering and prowling at night, and possession of drug paraphernalia, was sentenced to serve three to 23 months in the county prison beginning Thursday, Nov. 1, at 9 a.m., and pay $50 to CJEA fund. Abbott St., Lansford, criminal mischief to hospital property while a patient, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, perform 10 hours community service, and make restitution of $618 to Saint Luke's Hospital, Coaldale, for shattering a television.Jayson Hierro-Delacruz, 21, Shenandoah, driving while operating privileges were suspended, fined $200, $50 costs, and pay $50 to CJEA fund. He was cited by Shenandoah Patrol Officer Laurie Dudash.Tracey Lynn Yenilaitus, 26, Minersville, DUI, serve 10 days in the county prison beginning Monday, Oct. 29, at 9 a.m. followed by five months and 20 days on probation in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP), including 40 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring, and pay a $12 daily fee, fined $750, pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend safety school, driver's license suspended 12 months, and must install ignition interlock on car for 12 months after license restored.
