State police at Fern Ridge are investigating an assault incident.

Troopers said about 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, at 1723 Juniper Rd., Sun Valley, Effort, Chestnuthill Township, Michelle P. Elkins, 37, and Cassandra M. Magditch, 21, became involved in a verbal argument that escalated, which resulted in a physical confrontation between the two.Troopers said charges are pending.
