Tamaqua's Upper and Lower Owl Creek Dams are closed to the public until further notice. The closure is due to the rehabilitation project that has begun at both dams.

The project includes building new spillways and outlet structures, as well as raising the height of the dams. The project could take up to ten months to complete.Vehicles and pedestrians will be prohibited from the dams and the access roads.
