Mayor George Demetriades of Lansford told the Evening Record yesterday that the dirty, obnoxious habit of a few residents who dump trash in the nearest empty lot is presently the community's greatest eyesore.

The Evening Record photographer accompanied him on a tour of some of the most offensive spots, all located along East Front Street. The sight of trash and garbage, some of it fresh and ripley pungent, was "sickening," the mayor said.
