The Tamaqua Area School District has taken an added step to protect the students and staff of the district by having visitors to each school take photos of themselves via a visitor check-in system. A staff member will also monitor and inspect the photo and information prior to allowing anyone to pass. The photo, as well as other detailed information, will be stored in the system's log, as well as printed on a temporary badge the visitor is required to wear. Pictured reviewing recent visitor logs at the West Penn Elementary School is James Fasnacht, Assistant Principal, Tamaqua Area Elementary Schools.
