Two women were recently cited by Tamaqua police after they individually passed bad checks at Shafer's Pharmacy, 11 Center St.

Andrea Joy Chando, 32, of 303 Mulberry St., Tuscarora, issued check number 218 to the pharmacy on Aug. 31 in the amount of $24.99.The check was returned marked as "insufficient funds."Jeanette Lynn Hadesty, 30, of 362 W. Kline Ave., Lansford, issued check number 1041, in the amount of $169.45, to the pharmacy. The check was returned marked as "insufficient funds."Citations for bad checks were issued on Nov. 30.
