A traffic stop led to charges against the driver and his passenger.
Pocono Mountain Regional police reported about 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, officers stopped a Honda CRV along SR940 near Long Pond Road, in Pocono Summit, after observing several motor vehicle code violations.The driver was identified as Joseph Ferraro, 22, of Easton. Ferraro was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest for driving under the influence (DUI). While conducting a search of Ferraro, officers found a marijuana pipe, that he admitted to smoking earlier. He was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, where he submitted to a blood test.Ferraro is facing charges of DUI of alcohol and a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and several traffic violations. The DUI count is pending test results, police added.Ferraro's passenger was identified as Cienna J. Hobbs, 20, of Easton. He was found to be heavily intoxicated, police said.He was cited for underage drinking.
