A downed electrical line on Laurel Street between Claremont and Cumberland avenues put Hometown in the dark Thursday afternoon until PPL crews made repairs. Others responders included police, fire police and fire department, closing off nearby streets, as reports indicated that electricity from the downed wire was arcing over a parked car. Thursday's power blackout represented the third power outage in Hometown in the past four months.
