A Slatington driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 1:05 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, along Interstate 78 in Allentown.

State police at Fogelsville said Dean Hawkey, 43, was stopped for speeding, going 100 miles-per-hour. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for suspected DUI.In addition to the DUI and speeding counts, he will also be charged with illegal window tint and multiple lane change violations, troopers added.
