Adult Day Care

The Tamaqua Area Adult Day Care Center is conducting a non-perishable food drive to benefit the Tamaqua Salvation Army Food Bank. Donated goods will be accepted Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., through Nov. 1.The center has a variety of activities planned for October, including a pancake breakfast on Oct. 4.Other activities for the month will include: Oct. 5, bingo; Oct. 7, musical entertainment with Rob; Oct. 12, sing-a-long with Audrey Christ; Oct. 12, foot doctor visit; Oct. 14, Dutch Day at Holy Family; Oct. 17, craft day; Oct. 18, pizza party; Oct. 19, Salvation Army service; Oct. 26, monthly birthday party; Oct. 28, Frankenstein Friday; Oct. 31, visit from St. Jerome's kindergarten class and a Halloween party.In addition to weekly sing-a-longs, exercise sessions, a variety of therapies and social games, the center provides for hairstyling and manicure service.Both require advance notice. Breakfast, lunch and a snack are served daily.Anyone interested in obtaining more information about the center, or its services, may call (570) 668-6577 or visit Monday through Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.Animal blessingA Blessing of Animals will be held this Sunday, at 10:45 a.m., at Calvary Episcopal Church, 300 W.
