A daughter, Kyleigh Rose Mertz, was born at 6:41 p.m. on Aug. 11, 2011 at Lehigh Valley Hospital to Kristen and Lee Mertz Jr. of Palmerton.

She weighed 5 pounds, 3 ounces and measured 18.5 inches long.Maternal grandparents are Lee and Joyce Costenbader of Palmerton. Paternal grandparents are Lee and Sheila Mertz of Jim Thorpe.
