Jim Thorpe police have arrested Charles H. Hemmen, 24, of Ambler, Pa., on charges of theft and receiving stolen property stemming from the investigation of a stolen mountain bike incident that happened in the borough on July 24.

Police said it was reported to them at 11:54 a.m. on the above date by Kenneth Hurley, 421 Center St., that someone stole his Trek Navigator bike worth $600 by removing it from his front porch.Through the investigation, police said they learned Hemmen was seen riding the bike.Upon questioning, the man admitted to the theft.
