Members of the Jim Thorpe Fire Department had to remove an injured hiker from a heavily wooded area along Lentz Trail late Saturday afternoon. The incident began when the man entered the woods from a parking lot near a trail. A short distance in he apparently slipped and fell, reportedly injuring his back and striking the back of his head. After extrication from the woods he was treated at the scene by Lehigh paramedics and transported to the Gnaden Huetten Hospital, Lehighton.
