DUI arrests in Jim Thorpe

Jim Thorpe police reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by officers in April.

On April 10 about 3:15 a.m. officers were dispatched to SR209 for a one-vehicle crash between the inner borough bridge and Walnut Avenue. Upon arrival officers found a 2004 Pontiac Vibe had overturned and come to rest on the driver's side. The driver was identified as Roseann C. Stamato, 57, of 40 Porter Drive, Jim Thorpe.She showed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest. She submitted to a blood test which revealed a 0.11 blood alcohol content. Stamato was also charged with careless driving, police said.On April 15 at 10:31 p.m. officers stopped Ryan E. Luberecki, 29, of 912 E. Dewart St., Shamokin, for a traffic violation in the 1100 block of North Street. Luberecki displayed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest for DUI.He submitted to a blood test which revealed a 0.16BAC. He was also charged with speeding, police added.
