A Carbon County driver was injured in a one vehicle crash that occurred about 5 a.m. on Friday, May 13, along Christman Road, in East Penn Township.

State police at Lehighton said Brian E. Nothstein, 47, of Lehighton, was driving a 1982 Honda southbound when the vehicle went onto the west shoulder causing the driver to lose control. The car then landed on its left side.Nothstein was taken to the Lehighton hospital for treatment of an injury, troopers said. He was cited for operating a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.Tropers also investigated a hit and run accident reported at 12:10 a.m. on May 12 in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said a vehicle was traveling westbound on Fairgrounds Road when the driver failed to stop for a stop sign with Mill Pond Road. The driver then attempted to turn left and went off the road. The front of the vehicle struck a utility pole along the berm.The driver then fled the scene.
