Spontaneous Combustion are top 'Investigators'

Spontaneous Combustion from Lehighton Middle School took first place during the 2011 sixth, seventh and eighth grade Envirothon (Investigator division), held at the Carbon County Environmental Education Center in Summit Hill on Wednesday. The team scored 444. Members of Spontaneous Combustion are, Yvette Sharrow, teacher and team adviser, second from left; Cammi Nalesnik; Alyssa Jordan; and Andrew Ebbert, all sitting on rock; Kirk Breiner and Kyle Collins, team captain, second row, kneeling on rock; and Todd Serfass, teacher and team adviser, second from right. Accompanying the team are Rob Bergstresser, CCEEC volunteer, left; Franklin Klock, CCEEC naturalist, second row, left; and Liz McElwee, Lions Club region chairperson, right. Other teams that placed are: Wonder Wolves of Lehighton Middle School, second; Killer Whales of Lehighton Middle School, third; and Bomber I of Palmerton Junior High School.
