Carbon County Action Committee for Human Services offers elderly home help program. The program provides in-home assistance to income eligible Carbon County residents (aged 60 and older) who are disabled or recovering from a recent hospital stay or injury and have no one else available and/or willing to assist with the care of their home or personal needs. Services are provided for the purpose of ensuring safe and sanitary conditions and may include:
* Light housekeeping assistance;* Laundry assistance; and/or* Shopping assistance.Carbon County residents 60 years and older who meet specific income and need-related requirements are eligible for the program. Program income eligibility guidelines are; size of family and household gross annual income: one person, $21,660; two people, $29,140; three people, $36,620; four people, $44,100; five people, $51,580; and for each additional person add $7,480.Some income exclusions may apply. Anyone in need of assistance or requiring more information should contact Carbon County Action Committee at (610) 377-6400 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Elderly Home and Help Services are made possible through Pa. Department of Community and Economic Development pass-thru grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services's Community Services Block Grant.
