Arrests reported
State police at Lehighton reported on the following arrests made by troopers in recent days.
Troopers said on April 19 about 11:30 p.m. troopers responded to 218 White St., Weissport, for a dispute. Troopers said Melissa A. Tessitore, 33, and Michael C. Balogash, 30, both of that address, were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical. Balogash allegedly struck Tessitore in the head and face causing two lumps on her forehead. Balogash then grabbed Tessistore by the shirt and pulled her down a flight of stairs and onto White Street.Balogash struggled with troopers while being taken into custody and attempted to bite one of the troopers. He was placed under arrest for simple assault, harassment, public drunkenness and resisting arrest.On April 20 about 8 p.m. troopers were dispatched to 12 Cornell Ave., in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for a verbal altercation between two neighbors. Upon arrival Kristen Kuklinski, 24, of Brodheadsville, told troopers that Stacey Barrett, 45, of Palmerton, allegedly was banging and pulling on the front door at her residence where Kuklinski was staying at the time.Kuklinski also told troopers that Barrett was yelling, screaming and cursing in front of her four children, all under the age of 4. Kuklinski alleged that Barrett was causing the problem because one of her friends parked in front of Barrett's residence. A witness verified what Kuklinski said, troopers noted.Barrett was cited for disorderly conduct, troopers added.Troopers reported the arrest of Stanley Ervin Haydt, 40, of Weissport, following an incident that occurred about 2:30 p.m. on April 19 at the Weissport bridge.Troopers said Haydt was tazed and arrested after he fell into the Lehigh River in an intoxicated state, and then refused verbal commands by troopers and EMS personnel.He was transported to the Lehighton hospital, then to the barracks, then to the office of District Judge Bruce Appleton, of Palmerton, where he was arraigned on a charge of disorderly conduct.He was then placed in the county prison in Nesquehoning after failing to post bail.On April 20 about 2 p.m. Gerald Allen Blair, 26, of Palmerton, was stopped along SR903 at Laurel Drive, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, for a equipment violation.At the stop a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of used heroin needles. Drug charges are pending against Blair, troopers said.Also on April 20, about 8:30 p.m. troopers went to 311 Laurel Drive, in Polk Township, Monroe County, for an altercation. Upon arrival troopers learned that James William Conklin III, 27, and Donna Lynn Butler, 31, both of Kunkletown, were involved in a physical altercation, during which Conklin allegedly pushed Butler to the ground.As a result, troopers said, Conklin was charged with harassment.
