Andreas man sentenced to prison term for assault

Christopher Lee Shiner, 27, of 134 Ash Circle, Andreas, West Penn Township, was sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller in Schuylkill County Court to serve 11 to 22 months at the County Prison with credit for having served 246 days in prison followed by five years of consecutive probation on a charge of statutory sexual assault.

He received concurrent sentences on the following charges:Indecent assault on victim less than 16 years of age, serve three to six months; corruption of minors, serve nine to 18 months; statutory sexual assault, serve 11 to 22 months; indecent assault, serve three to six months; corruption of minors, serve nine to 18 months; statutory sexual assault, serve 11 to 22 months; indecent assault, serve three to six months and corruption of minors, serve nine to 18 months.Shiner also was ordered to pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, and a $50 monthly supervision fee. The defendant is also barred from having any contact with the victim or her family, cannot consumed alcoholic beverages while on probation and shall have no unsupervised visits with minors even his own children until cleared by the adult probation department and must comply with the conditions governing the intensive probation offender program.Shiner entered a guilty plea to the charges last February. He was cited by Trooper John Powis in April 2010.
