Fair weather occurred for the dedication of Gnaden Huetten Hospital in Lehighton, today. Crowds of people from throughout Carbon County attended, with a parade preceding the dedicatory program. A Bowmanstown paraplegic, Willoughby Hagenbuch, a veteran of World War II, cut the ribbons leading to the hospital as chairman Wilbur Warner read an appropriate poem. Congressman Francis E. Walter, Easton, the principal speaker, expressed the hope that the new institution would help to build "a stronger and healthier America."
