Yes, an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968 which has sold over 30 million albums, makes a return trip to Penn's Peak tomorrow.

The quintet will be performing in concert at 8 p.m. Tickets, which will be available at the door, are $50 and $45.The band was formed Chris Squire and Jon Anderson from a mutual interest in vocal harmonies and classical song structure.With drummer Bill Bruford, guitarist Peter Banks and keyboardist Tony Kaye, they metamorphosed into YES, earning a residency at the famed London venue The Marquee Club, where they played with the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd, releasing their self-titled debut album in July 1969.Squire has been a constant with Yes.Guitarist Steve Howe, who went on to play in the popular prog-rock groups Asia and GTR and continues releasing acclaimed solo albums and touring, brought an experimental cutting edge to YES for their 1970's The Yes Album, their first album to top the UK charts. Drummer Alan White, who had been hand-picked to play on John Lennon's Imagine and George Harrison's All Things Must Pass, came aboard in 1972. YES then went on to conquer America and played at some of the largest paid attendance concerts of all time, including JFK Stadium in Philadelphia in 1976 to a crowd of over 130,000 people.The biggest hit by Yes came in 1983. "Owner of a Lonely Heart" was number one on numerous charts including the "U.S. Hot 100."The LP "Tales from Topographic Oceans" reached number one in Great Britain and number six in the U.S. in 1973.Last year, Yes had a successful tour of major arenas in Canada and the U.S. with Asia serving as the opening band.Last October, Yes announced the signing of a worldwide recording deal with the Italian-based record label Frontiers Records. The band commenced recording a new album in Los Angeles (with producer Trevor Horn).The album won't be completed until possibly July and it will be the first new Yes studio album in a decade.Yes began their North-American "Rite of Spring" tour this month. The tour opened on March 6 in Houston and has drifted east. Stops included Chicago, Cleveland, Jacksonville, Fla., and Charlotte.Saturday night, Yes performed before a large crowd at Louisville Plaza Theater in Louisville, Ky.Tonight, the band will be in the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center in New Bedford, Mass.A European winter tour is already scheduled for November and December.
