A second annual Chili Challenge was held March 5 at Jerusalem United Church of Christ in Trachsville.
Everyone was invited to a chili dinner after which they could vote for their favorite. The fun-raiser is held in winter when there is not much doing and people are ready for some fun, said Terry Goodhile, project chairman.Last year there were nine pots of chili and this year it has doubled to 18. It's just a fun event but donations are accepted, not requested.Goodhile said it will definitely be held again next year. Does the church have 36 people who cook chili so this year's 18 can be doubled? There were breads, corn chips and cheeses and hot dogs to make chili dogs and a table of desserts.
Matthew "Chili the Kid" Binder is a colorful "Mexican" who got a lot of attention. His sombrero came from Mexico and the serape was made for a Halloween costume.
