The Jim Thorpe Fire Department has free smoke detectors for Jim Thorpe borough residents. If you need a smoke detector please contact Fire Chief Bill Diehm at (570) 325-3890. No commercial properties please.Bereavement groupThe bereavement support group of St. Joseph's parish will meet on Saturday, at 11 a.m. These weekly sessions will continue until March 5. The sessions take place in the rectory of the church and are open to anyone. If you wish more information call the rectory office, (570) 325-3731.Community supperThe free community supper sponsored by St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Race Street, will be held on Sunday, Feb. 27, from 4-6 p.m. at the church. This month's meal will be meatloaf and macaroni and cheese.
