State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on crashes investigated by troopers in recent days on Schuylkill County roadways.
A hit and run crash was reported about 12:16 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, along SR209 in Porter Township. Troopers said Darryn C. Reed, 42, of Williamstown, was stopped due to a crash that occurred just moments before while another vehicle was westbound and approaching Reed's vehicle. The other driver faield to observe Reed's 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlas and hit the rear bumper with the front of his. After impact the other driver fled the scene. The hit and run vehicle is believed to be a older model Dodge or Ford. Reed and his pasenger, Darryn Reed , 16, sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.Troopers investigated a crash about 6:51 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, along SR61 in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Carl M. Deiter Jr., 43, of Pottsville, was driving a 2001 GMC truck southbound and merging onto SR183 when he lost control on the ice-covered roadway. The vehicle struck a bridge rail with its left front bumper. Deiter was not injured.Another crash on Saturday occurred about 7:10 p.m. along SR901 in Branch Township. Troopers said Richard K. Klaus, 37, of Pottsville, was exiting the parking lot of Amigo's restaurant onto westbound 901 and crossed into the path of a vehicle driven by Kevin M. Regnier39, of Port Carbon, who was westbound.Regnier attempted to avoid a crash and swerved. His 1993 Buick Park Avenue began to spin clockwise with the left rear of the Park Avenue hitting the rear of Klaus's 1998 Buick Century.Klaus, his wife, Bernadette A., 37, and a three-year-old male, and Regnier were all not injured.Troopers cited Klaus for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
