Traffic affected by power outage
Motorists traveling in the Lehighton area Wednesday morning were confronted with traffic lights not working due to a large power outage in the area. The lights went out at 8 a.m. to a major portion of the Carbon County community as well as the main business area along Route 443. Many commercial businesses shut down as well as several minimarts which could not supply gas to customers. The outage was caused by a contractor who was moving a line and a short occurred. Power was restored to the community in a half-hour.
