Tamaqua Police are investigating a reported assault that took place Jan. 1 at Freddy's Pub on Mauch Chunk Street.

Officers were dispatched to the establishment at 2 a.m. and were told that a Nicole Swanson of Lansford had struck Justin Startzel of Tamaqua, in the head. Startzel was then also allegedly struck by Swanson's friend, Charles Oliver of Andreas. According to the report, Swanson and Oliver were both ejected from the premises before officers were called.Charges are pending completion of the investigation.
