3 area residents placed in probation program
Three area residents were among 43 who were qualified by Schuylkill County District Attorney James P. Goodman for the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program because it was their first criminal offense.
President Judge William E. Baldwin placed them Thursday afternoon in the program with conditions imposed. If they successfully complete the program, their record will be wiped clean. All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted. Placed in the program were:Corey Joe Fritz, 21, of 322 Clark St., Tamaqua, must pay $350 cost for the program, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) and make restitution of $1,000 as his share to Bell Corporation. Fritz was charged by Trooper John Sleboda with criminal conspiracy to remove scrap iron from Bell property which was sold to a scrap dealer.Seth George Mellor,19, of 27 Gamelands Drive, Walker Township, placed for two years on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI), $500 assessment, $50 to CJEA, $300 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, attend alcohol highway safe driving school, receive intensive outpatient counseling, perform 20 hours community service and driver's license is suspended 90 days. Mellor was cited twice by Trooper Paul Hardock on Wildcat Road in Walker Township last March.Donald P. Joseph III, 27, of 53 Hazle St., Delano, $350 assessment, $50 to CJEA, $100 to SAE fund, $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab and 15 hours community service. Joseph was cited by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh, Mahanoy City police and charged with possession of a controlled substance last Feb. 10. On a charge of leaving an unattended vehicle which obstructed traffic was fined $25 plus costs.Lynwood Thomas Rarick, 22, of 1125 Pine St., Mahanoy City, DUI, $500 assessment, $50 to CJEA, $300 to SAE fund, 10 hours community service, outpatient counseling and license suspended 60 days. Rarick was cited by Patrolman Daniel T. George, Schuylkill Haven police, April 13, 2008.Mark West, 35, Hazleton, $350 assessment, $50 to CJEA and 10 hours community service. West was cited by Patrolman Jeremy Talanca, West Penn Township police, last May 14 with identify theft and making a false report to police. On a charge of driving an unregistered vehicle was fined $25 plus costs.James Wronski Jr., 21, of 414 Roosevelt Drive, Mahanoy City, $350 assessment, $50 to CJEA and perform 10 hours community service. Wronski was cited by Patrolman Brian Thompson, Rush Township police, last April 8 for selling or furnishing alcoholic beverage to minors near Neifert's Dam in state game lands.Robert Eugene Sloan, 19, 1326 E. Pine St., Mahanoy City, DUI, $500 assessment, $50 to CJEA, $100 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, undergo outpatient counseling and license suspended 90 days. Sloan was cited by Patrolman Brandon Alexander, Mahanoy Township police, last Jan. 20. On a charge of failing to report an accident to police was fined $25 and costs and failing to give immediate notice of an accident fined $25 and costs.Tracey L. Yenilaitis, Minersville, DUI, $500 assessment, $50 to CJEA, $300 to SAE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, 10 hours community service and license suspended 60 days. Yenilaitis was cited by Trooper Thomas Horning when stopped on SR209 in Rush Township last May 10. Dowd was cited by Trooper Thomas Cuff last April 14 on Big Mine Run Road in Butler Township.Cody John Ellex, 19, Port Carbon, $350 assessments, $50 to CJEA and 10 hours community service. Ellex was cited by Sgt. James R. Joos, Pottsville police. for possession of drug paraphernalia.Michael Joseph Evely, 18, Ashland, $350 assessment, $50 to CJEA and perform 10 hours community service. Evely was cited by Officer Richard Horaschak II, Ashland police, last Feb. 16 for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and on a charge of public drunkenness was fined $25 plus costs.Robert John Fanok Jr., 42, Pottsville, $350 assessment, $50 probation fee and 20 hours community service. Fanok was cited by Trooper Mark F.Baron last March 6 for assaulting Sheryl Lynn Kemble and must make restitution of $1,663.37.David Allen Fegley, 20, Ashland, $350 assessment, $50 to CJEA, and 10 hours community service. Fegley was cited by Patrolman David T. George, Schuylkill Haven police, last May 31 for resisting arrest.
