Veterans Day event will bring history to life

On Veterans Day, area teachers can bring history textbooks to life for their students at a free event to honor veterans of World War II on Thursday, Nov. 11, presented by Blue Ridge Communications and the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN).

High school students and history faculty are encouraged to attend this educational experience.At 6:30 p.m., at Palmerton VFW, 2020 Forest Inn Road, Pennsylvania veterans, Ed Kyler and Grant Lee, will share their wartime experiences.Both men were featured in PCN's World War II books, "World War II: In Their Own Words" and "World War II Reflections."Kyler was a paratrooper and a member of the 101st Airborne Division.Lee, a gunner on an LST, transported men and supplies for the D-Day invasion. He also served in the invasion of Okinawa.Each give a formal presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.Both books will be available and can be signed by the veterans.
