Golden Agers

The Panther Valley Golden Agers will meet on Monday, Nov. 8 with a guest therapist from St. Luke's Miners Hospital. If there is enough interest, bingo will be played. This will be the last time to sign-up for the Christmas party to be held at La Dolce Restaurant on Nov. 28, starting at 1 p.m.At the Oct. 25 meeting Dolores Becker opened the meeting with the recitation of the "Pumpkin Prayer." Appropriate Halloween stories and jokes were read by Bernice Strepko and Marion Schaffer. The hall was decorated in a Halloween theme and the door prize, a fall flower arrangement, was won by Mary Ann Stotelmyer. The Sunshine report was given by Mimi Marrin.Senior centerThe Panther Valley Senior Center has announced its upcoming activities. On Nov. 4 Jean Zimmerman will give a talk on benefits. There will also be a checkup at 11 a.m. Nov. 5 is the Lancaster trip with the bus leaving CVS at 8:30 a.m. and Lansford at 8:45 p.m. The center will remain open.Nov. 8 is horse racing at 11 a.m. Nov. 9 is line dancing in the morning. Nov. 10 benefits and a checkup at 9 a.m. Nov. 11 is Veterans Day and the center will be closed. Nov. 12 there will be a Veterans Day program at 11 a.m.On Nov. 15 everyone will watch a DVD featuring comedian Charlie Prose. Nov. 16 is line dancing. Nov. 17 there will be a Thanksgiving program at 11 a.m. Nov. 18 there will be eye screenings at 11 a.m., and Nov. 19 is shopping at 9:30 a.m. but the center will be open.PV Knee HiA meeting has been called for Panther Valley Knee-Hi for Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sports Zoo.NesquehoningConservation clubThe Nesquehoning Conservation Club will hold its meeting at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 3 at MapleShade.Meed's reportMeed's Methodist Church has announced the following events.The free Thanksgiving dinner for Sunday, Nov. 21 will be accepting reservations for either the 3 p.m. or 5 p.m. seating.
