Veterans to be honored with brunch at Village at Palmerton

It's out with spaghetti and in with brunch.

Either way, it's a win-win for the veterans who attend the first ever Veteran Honorary Brunch Gala Nov. 10 at the Village at Palmerton.A brunch assortment will be served at 10 a.m. on the second floor of the Village. Then, at 11 a.m., entertainer Hal Brister will sing songs from the 20s on up.Local veterans and their spouses are invited to the event, said Jennifer Ebert, director of marketing and admissions. Limited seating is available, Ebert said.In the past, the Village has honored veterans through a spaghetti dinner, Ebert said. Due to nighttime driving and a lack of transportation, she said a decision was made to change the format."We feel that it is important to recognize our men and women who have served our country," Ebert said. "We made the change to a day event to allow more of our veterans a chance to come out and enjoy the day."Ebert said the brunch is a way to give back to our veterans for their dedicated service to our country."This day at our home is to pay tribute to all of our veterans that are serving and have served," she said. "This is such a small thank you for people who gave so much."Those who would like to attend should RSVP by Nov. 5 at (610) 824-7406.
