It's that time of year, Kick-Off Time for the annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Tamaqua and Surrounding Communities. The kick off event will be held Monday, Nov. 1, beginning at 7 p.m., at the LCCC Morgan Center on High Street in Tamaqua. All relay team members, survivors, and caregivers are welcome to attend this free event. Light refreshments will be provided and door prizes will be awarded.
Relay For Life is the signature event for the American Cancer Society. More than a fundraiser, the fun filled overnight event is designed to mobilize the entire community in celebrating survivors, remembering loved ones and raising money to fight cancer by bringing together friends, families, businesses, hospitals, schools and churches. Teams seek sponsorship prior to the relay, all with the goal of eliminating cancer. Volunteers are also needed to organize and recruit teams, fund raise, seek communty support, acquire refreshments and prizes, and lend their support in any way possible. To register a team, or learn more about the relay, attend Monday's meeting, visit the website
