The Rush Township Board of Supervisors announced at its monthly meeting on Tuesday that it has received two donations.

On Oct. 7, the board received a donation of $100 from the Quakake American Legion Post 973. The donation will go towards the Quakake Park. The supervisors praised the donation and community involvement on the part of the Quakake Legion.A donation was made by Marian Catholic High School to benefit the Rush Township fire police, a strictly volunteer agencyThe school said it appreciates the help that is provided to them by the fire police in directing traffic during the home football games. The supervisors thanked the fire police for their commitment to the community.Under new business, the following items were agreed upon by Chairman Stephen W. Simchak and Supervisor Robert Leibensperger. Vice Chairman Shawn Gilbert was not in attendance.The board agreed to advertise the Meadow Avenue Sewer Project, with bids due back by Dec. 21.The Quakake Park checking account will be closed and the balance of $11.63 transfered to the Recreation Fund.Budget meetings were set for Nov. 17 and 23 and will be advertised.The Rush Township fire police were given permission to assist at the Tamaqua Halloween Parade on Tuesday, Oct. 26, with a rain date of Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m.The supervisors granted a 60-day extension of time for Plan 235A, Air Products Revised Land Development, and granted a 90 day extension of time for Plan 234, the Postupack Minor Subdivision.A resolution was adopted for the submission of the CDGB funding request for 2011.
