A Carbon County man was cited for retail theft at a county store.

State police at Lehighton said Christopher George, 31, of Edgemont Ave., Palmerton, was cited for an incident at the Country Junction, 6565 Interchange Rd., in Towamensing Township, that occurred about 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 5.Troopers allege that George attempted to remove $963.77 worth of merchandise from the store without paying for it. He left the store with the items but was confronted by store personnel, troopers allege.
