Nesquehoning area fire companies, assisted by Lansford units, responded to an apartment building fire at 127 West Catawissa street Sunday afternoon after it was reported a mattress was burning and the structure was filling with smoke. A short time later the Lansford units responded to a report of an apartment building fire at 90 east Catawissa street. No injuries were reported in either incident.
