Traffic was backed-up in Hometown while fire, rescue, and ambulance companies from Hometown, McAdoo, Quakake, and other local communities responded to the scene of two-accidents, involving an entrapment, that occurred seconds apart and involving four vehicles on the Mile Hill Road (SR309) in Kline Township, just before 3 p.m. on Monday. Reportedly, the driver of a white sports utility vehicle side-swiped a red Chevrolet Neon causing the Neon to end up on the southbound embankment, resulting in an entrapment, and also causing the white SUV to be stopped on the northbound side of the road. Firefighters had to cut the door off the Neon to rescue to driver. The white SUV front driver's-side body and tire were smashed into the body. Immediately following the southbound accident another accident occurred when a gray Kia sedan rear-ended a gray Ford Focus, both driving northbound as they slowed down while passing the first accident. Three of the four vehicles were towed from the scene. Local fire police and the McAdoo police closed portions of both sides of the road for over an hour during the cleanup and investigation.
