Forest Street in Franklin Township was closed to traffic Wednesday evening after heavy rains and strong winds brought down a tree just after 6 p.m. The tree took down several utility lines, including PPL power lines, leaving an unknown number of customers without power. Township firefighters used chain saws to cut up and remove the tree.
