A Tamaqua driver was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday along SR309 near the bottom of the "Mile Hill" in Kline Township.
State police at Frackville identified the victim as Jessica A. Linkhorst, 29.Troopers said she was traveling southbound in a 2004 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and rounding a left curve. The truck traveled off the road and onto the west berm where it struck a metal guard rail. The truck then traveled back onto the road and crossed both southbound lanes and off onto the east side of the road where it struck a rock embankment with the left front end of the truck.The truck came to final rest facing southwest, troopers said.Linkhorst was flown by medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.Troopers said Linkhorst will be cited for failure to wear a seat belt.Assisting troopers at the scene were volunteers from the McAdoo Fire Company, Hometown fire police and McAdoo ambulance.
