JT Lions donate to 2 community groups

The Jim Thorpe Lions Club presented donations to two different Jim Thorpe Community groups to aid in their upcoming events to be held later this week. The Jim Thorpe Athletic Association Sam Miller Field received a $200 donation to aid in their Community Block Party which will be held May 14, 15 and 16 - Jim Thorpe's Birthday Weekend at the Sam Miller Field on North Avenue in the Heights section of Jim Thorpe. A $300 donation to the Germantown Grove Club will go to help with the recovery from a recent fish kill and to purchase fish food. The Germantown Grove Club's Fishing Derby for Special Needs kids from throughout Carbon County will be held in the Germantown section of Jim Thorpe this upcoming Thursday and Friday, May 13 & 14 starting at 9 a.m. both days.
