Members of Carbon County Safe Kids and Carbon Masonic Lodge 242 are putting the finishing touches on the upcoming Fun-N-Safety Fair on Saturday, May 1. The event, which is free and open to all children and their families in the county, will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Masonic Lodge, Fifth and Center streets, Jim Thorpe. Kim Whitney, family service at Head Start, left; Mindy Graver, family living educator for the Carbon County Penn State Cooperative Extension and chairperson of Carbon County Safe Kids, center; and Ann Dotter, Safe Kids member, look over posters on Monday that were made by area students for the group's sports safety poster contest. The posters will be strung up around the fair.
