March 31, 1965 Two area high school basketball players are named to the United Press International (UPI) Class B and C All-State Honorable Mention list. Bill Gicking of Weatherly averaged 24.0 points per game during the regular season of the Anthracite League and was selected to the squad. Jim Thorpe's Jack Kmetz, who netted 21.4 ppg in Anthracite League play, also was recognized and named to the team.
