Touchdown Club

The Jim Thorpe Olympian Touchdown Club will meet on Wednesday, March 17, at 6 p.m. in the commons area of the high school. Parents, friends and relatives of participants of the local football program are invited to attend the monthly meetings and help plan for the upcoming football season. There is a need of help with fundraising projects, weekly dinners, etc., all of which benefit the young men of the program.Friends of the LibraryThe Friends of the Dimmick Memorial Library will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, March 18 at 10 a.m. in the Dimmick Annex house at 58 Broadway in Jim Thorpe, two doors up from the Dimmick Library. The Friends of the Library is a volunteer group founded for the purpose of supporting the library through monthly free community interest events and weekly fundraising events. It endeavors to promote community awareness of the library as an entertainment and educational center and a vital community resource. Other book lovers and library supporters are invited to join the Friends at its next meeting or to talk with members about other ways they can get involved to support the library. For more information call the library at (570) 325-2131.Community supperSt. Mark's Episcopal Church, Race St., will hold its monthly free community supper on Sunday, March 28, from 4-6 p.m. The menu this month will be Easter dinner.
