Dear Editor:
How would you like to be starting as the new football coach on a team with a 0 and 16 season record, and be expected to have a winning team within the year? Actually, this would be a better situation to be in, than what our President was handed when he took office.Consider this, two foreign wars in full swing, the National economy nearly as bad as the "Great Depression", the National deficit at a record high, unemployment throughout the country reaching two digit figures, the American dollar diminishing in value, two major American automobile industries about to collapse along with numerous banks and insurance companies, the Health Care system in dire need of an overhaul, record high housing foreclosures in most States, the stock market at continuing record lows, and not to mention having to deal with Nancy Pelosi as your Speaker of the House. So, you have to ask yourself, "Who would want this job in the first place?"In my opinion, it would have to be a person with extreme patriotism, a strong dedicated commitment to making things right again, and with exceptional wisdom and tireless ambition. As all of us in America being team members, do we stand behind our coach who is going to try his best to make our team a winning team again, or do we just continue to criticize and ridicule our new head coach, until he gives up and considers our team a lost cause?Well, in four years we will all have every right to either extend his contract for another four years, or terminate his coaching career for good.Let's stand behind him for now.John M.
