Dog dispute still ongoing in Eldred

Walter Zapletal, Jr. introduced photographs to the Eldred Township supervisors on Wednesday, Nov. 4's meeting, he had taken of proof that dogs that belong to a neighbor, Lynnel Jones, were on his property on Buskirk Lane on Oct. 21, 2009.

"Now I have evidence," Michael Kaspszyk, township solicitor, told Zapletal, in regards to an ongoing dispute between Zapletal and Jones.Previously when Zapletal asked the township to do something about Jones' dogs coming over on his property, Kaspszyk told him nothing could be done until he had proof. He told Zapletal that he would now send Jones a letter.A township budget workshop was held on Nov. 3. On Nov. 4, a motion was approved to give Sharon Anthony, township secretary and supervisor, the to go ahead and prepare an advertisement to announce the budget was ready for public inspection, which they have 20 days to do before it is approved.The Blaine and Nancy Silfies sewage planning module was denied by the DEP. The maintenance agreement needs to be revised. Kaspszyk said he created an addendum to the maintenance agreement and the board of supervisors signed it. Now Silfies and his wife need to sign it, have it notarized and returned to the DEP before the Nov. 13 deadline.Kaspszyk said that Bruce Hawk has requested a reargument in the courts of the entire Eldred Township zoning ordinance concerning its definition of what is and is not a racetrack.
