The University at Albany field hockey team fell victim to Boston University in the American East Conference Tournament title game.
The Great Danes opened tournament play with a 3-0 victory over New Hampshire in the AEC semifinals, but were unable to defend last year's conference title as they fell to Terriers, 4-1, in the title game.Three Lehighton graduates played in the tourney for AlbanyGoalie Kristi Troch played the entire second half of both games. She didn't allow a goal against New Hampshire while making three saves and allowing two goals against Boston University.Alysia Hough and Chelsea Neff saw limited action in the field. Hough was able to record a shot on goal in the championship game.UAlbany finished the '09 season with a 13-5 overall record after sharing the America East regular season title with Boston University. It was the third straight season the Great Danes played in the AEC Championship title game.
