Bomber pride figures to rock the rafters of Palmerton Area High School stadium tonight.
The third annual community bonfire and pep rally will be held at 7 p.m. in the high school stadium. Admission is free.A championship Powder Puff Game will be played and will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the championship game played before the lighting of the fire.In addition, each level of cheering, from Booster Club through varsity, will perform individually.Tammy Recker, student council adviser, said the event "showcases Bomber pride from the Booster Club level through high school."Recker said cheerleaders will show their spirit through cheers and dances, while the football teams will be recognized from Flags to Varsity."This is a great way to support our youth and support the Bombers in their fight against Northern Lehigh Friday night," Recker said. "Be sure to wear your Blue and White."The event is organized by the high school student council advisers and members.Also during the event, the junior high and varsity cheerleaders will begin their Community Spirit Drive, in which they will collect non perishable food items for the Palmerton Food Bank.Everyone who attends the bonfire activities and/or the football game Friday night are asked to bring with them any nonperishable food item to donate to the cheerleaders food drive.
